Amid increasing fuel prices, Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, encourages Lithuanians to look for alternatives, of which one is to use more electric vehicles. PM indicates that the USA and Western European countries are encouraging and investing in the use of renewable energy for transport. Kubilius says that a lot of experience could be adapted in Lithuania.

"We have to admit that fuel prices are given by the worldwide market situation, influences of monopoly groups in the fuel market, while there are no significant differences in the excise policies among different states. We have to think as most of European and Western countries thing, for example USA and Netherlands are considering alternatives for oil based transport? Of which one is to use more electricity in the transport sector, and it is more and more discussed and already being implemented in various areas" PM Kubilius was telling on Ziniu Radijas radio.
